Inside – Do you need a quick gift for Christmas? Make this crochet ornament for an easy handmade gift to give to anyone on your list.
Do you ever find yourself scrambling to know what to give for the Holidays? Between the teachers, neighbors, and grandparents-who-have-everything, thinking of the *perfect* gift becomes on par with bundling up a child to play in the snow. Too strenuous to do over, and over, and over again.
You need a simple, beautiful, and quick solution to Gift Conundrum.
The Cozy Sweater Crochet Ornament is your new go-to gift this holiday season. Whether you need a gift that everyone will love for a gift exchange, or you forgot to stealthily figure out son’s teacher’s head circumference for a fitted beanie… the Cozy Sweater Crochet Bauble is the answer to your Gift Conundrum.

Inspiration + Design
The Cozy Sweater Crochet Ornament needed to be a few things…
- EASY – beginner friendly
- QUICK – let’s not make this complicated
- STUNNING – the delicate Lemon Peel Stitch is the just-right texture
Once I landed on the Lemon Peel Stitch, the Cozy Sweater Bauble turned into the coziest ornament on my tree. The Lemon Peel Stitch is a fairly close-knit stitch. It doesn’t have gaps from stitch to stitch which yields the soft, squishy fabric. After I sewed in the ends, this crochet pattern still needed a name. My first thought.. “this looks like the plastic bauble got bundled up for a blustery winter walk.”
Aha! The Cozy Sweater Bauble got its name.
I just love LOVE the idea of hanging “cozy” ornaments on a Christmas Tree. It fills out the essence of what this bauble collection is all about – decking out your tree with cozy love, or sharing a bauble of that love + kindness with others.
Yarn + Substitutes
Worsted Weight Acrylic – That’s What’s on the Bauble
Using up little bits of yarn is every crocheter’s dream. Well, maybe not our most exciting dream, but sure does feel fantastic when we use up a FULL skein of yarn. This crochet bauble pattern uses about 25yds of worsted weight acrylic. So, dig through that bin of tiny yarn balls and pick your favorite color for the Cozy Sweater Bauble. Otherwise, those unused balls will keep haunting your dreams with tiny voices of “please pick me”.

Join each round with a Slip Stitch. Alternatively, you can use the No Cut Join Method. See this photo tutorial here.
