Fiona from Cosy Rosie UK and I joined creative forces this year to design SIX (6) brand new crochet patterns that will jumpstart your crochet season. We share a desire to help beginner crocheters to branch out from basic stitches to try those more advanced crochet patterns. Also, we both love encouraging crocheters to use gorgeous, one-of-a-kind hand dyed yarn for crochet accessories. When does the Free Crochet Along (CAL) start and where does it take place?
The Autumn Poppy Crochet Along starts on September 10, 2024 right here on the High Desert Yarn Blog! Since Fiona and I designed 2 patterns each for this free crochet along, she and I will release the next pattern in the CAL every other week. Here is the order of releases so you can mark them on your calendar :

What type of yarn do you need?
Fiona and I designed each pattern to showcase the lovely, unique nature of hand dyed yarns. Chances are you have a few skeins in your Yarn Library, or you have several in your Etsy Favorites. Friend, now is the right time to use up that stunning hand dyed yarn! We’ll be using a DK weight (category 3), 100% Superwash Merino Wool for every crochet pattern in this collection.

Autumn Rose (right in the picture above) is a semi solid colorway featuring dusty rose pinks. There are slight changes in tone (lighter and darker areas) that give the crochet fabric an elegant touch. Autumn Poppy (left in the picture above) is a highly variegated yarn featuring creams, ambers, oranges and rose pink.
